Unique Holiday Photo Booth or Selfie Station
Now I’m a person that would prefer to never be in front of a camera, my friends are a different sort. They LOVE photo booths and fun pics, especially if it’s a really good scene. And yes, they are dragging me into these pics, but I always stay to the outside for an easy crop or hide behind someone if I’m lucky.
Photo booths (or Photo Scenes as I like to call them) are a perfect interactive form of entertainment at events. They provide a fun factor for guests that love to have their photo taken - why not do it with your logo in the background.
Below provides a bunch of options with what you need to make it happen.
TOBOGGAN DOWN A HILL
Create a fake snow hill with an incline. It could be a simple ramp with white carpeting covered with fake snow
Install a toboggan – make sure it’s stable and won’t move around
Have a big fan blowing air to give it a natural look of people riding down the hill
Guests will sit in the toboggan for pics
Props: santa hats, bright scarves, etc.
WINTER WONDERLAND WITH CARRIAGE
Snowy backdrop
Add in extra trees to create dimension
Add a carriage with ropes for the reindeer
Give guests either reindeer ears or a santa hat if they are santa
Add a red nose for rudolph
NATIONAL LAMPOONS CHRISTMAS SET (SETTING UP THE LIGHTS)
Backdrop of the outside of a snow covered house
Ball of lights
Ladder (be very careful – have a spotter)
Massive amount of string lighting down the house façade (do not light them it will make the pics useless)
Add a prop squirrel looking down on them from the “roof”
Add other gaudy looking Christmas props for the front of house
BELOW ARE THE BASICS
Workspace for this station should be 10 feet wide, 10 feet deep and at least 8 feet to the ceiling (and larger if you plan to have a lot of people in the photo)
If you are getting a backdrop, 8 feet wide by 8 feet tall for up to 4 people in photo. If you have tall people get 10 feet high or want more people get 10 feet wide. NOTE: Order matte backdrop, as a shiny one can add a glare to the photos.
Rent proper lighting if not already present in the venue. In a pinch you can get a ring-light on Amazon or big box chain store.
