5 Event Ideas for Your Next Launch Party

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Events have become more experiential and the bar is set high. Gone are the days of a cocktail party serving wine, beer and cocktails and that’s it. Now you need to entertain in some form, whether that’s performances or group activities.

Below are 5 ideas that are not complicated or crazy expensive, but are tried and true ideas that add fun, elegance and some convenience to the party!

craft station

CRAFT STATION

To my surprise, craft stations are a HUGE hit with adults. People love interacting and creating, plus guests will have a takeaway at the end of the event (this is a branding option).

Ensure the ingredients for the crafts can be kept clean and not ruin floors, tables or linens and more importantly not ruin the clothing of guests.

Great options: a station to decorate t-shirts/re-useable shopping bag, decorate a wine glass (so they don’t lose it), create a personalized scent/perfume.

AMUSE BOUCHE

An Amuse Bouche is meant to be eaten in just one or two bites in an attempt to stimulate or "tease" the palate, BUT it' doesn’t have to be food, sometimes a small-sized cocktail can do the trick.

Serve the amuse bouche off a tray once people arrive at the event.  It’s elegant, impressive and doesn’t have to be expensive.

Great options: ceviche on a chip, soup shooter, shot of a warm cocktail, the options are endless.

phone charging station

CHARGING STATION

This shouldn’t be surprising, since everyone lives by their phone. If your event is at the end of the day when most people’s phone battery is running low, it will definitely be greatly appreciated. Plus it’s a great branding opportunity.

Great options: It could be as simple as a couple power strips with phone chargers for self-serve or you could create a phone charging valet with staffing.

sushi rolling station

INTERACTIVE FOOD STATION

Now that everyone’s a foodie,  making food at an event can be a great activity people will love.  Bring in a chef from a local favorite restaurant to teach a class and/or hire a celebrity chef to teach it virtually.

Great stations:  sushi rolling with the chef, cookie decorating, bread making station (add in the extras, knead the dough and pick up the cooked product at end of night),

game night

TRIVIA GAME STATION

Set up a table that has Jeopardy style questions on a big sign.  Create an answer sheet for anyone to fill out.  At the end of the night, whoever answered the most questions wins a prize.

Another thing to consider, gear all the questions about your company and/or products. This way guests learn about what the company stands for building a more loyal customer base.

Is there a tie?  Have the 2 people answer more questions in front of the crowd.

* It doesn’t have to be trivia, there are many other games to consider like bingo, board games, etc.

So there you have it. Five tried and true forms of entertaining guests at your next launch party, holiday party, grand opening, fundraisers or just the company’s summer BBQ.
