Location, Location, Location

Several years ago I attended this launch party in the Arts District in downtown LA.  It was a totally hip area for events, so I was (of course) dressed very hip & lookin’ good.

Once getting there, I realized it was a bit sketchy area and the only parking available was down a poorly lit street.  So I parked and walked back to the event at least it was with an escort (a homeless guy and his shopping cart).

Don’t get me wrong, I have no issues with the Arts District or being around homeless people, BUT holding an event where people are dressed nicely in an area where people don’t have money is not a good move.

Crowdsource Decor or Entertainment

Do you remember WAY back to elementary school art class and running home after school to show your parents "the most amazing" macaroni plate art, or the painting of your dog/cat (spot-on right?), or paper mache of the globe?

So why not bring that to an event.
